My business at Shinjuku West Exit wrapped up at 11:00, so I decided to look for somewhere to eat.
I was in the mood for curry, so I searched on my phone and spotted a curry shop just a short walk away.
After checking online reviews and the shop’s website images, I decided this place was definitely going to be delicious and headed over.
That’s how I ended up at a shop called LION SHARE in Minami-Shinjuku.

For lunch, you can choose from five types of curry.
After checking the menu displayed in front of the restaurant, it appears the lunch options consist of A Lunch with dry keema curry over rice and B Lunch with regular rice, where you choose your preferred curry from the five varieties listed below.

Since this restaurant seemed to recommend the dry keema curry, I chose the vegetarian curry for the A lunch set.
After a short wait, the curry was brought to my table.
The dish on the left is rice topped with dry keema curry, and it certainly looks quite unique.

How to Eat Curry
The menu included instructions on how to eat (or savor?) the curry.
It first said, “Mix the keema, rice, and sides (onion achar, ginger), then take a bite here,” so I tried it that way.

Dry keema curry is pretty darn good.
After taking a couple of bites, I followed the next instruction.
It said “Drink the soup from the soup curry,” so I did just that.
Maybe it’s the acidity from the tomatoes, but it really hits the spot. It’s incredibly delicious.

Next, it says, “Pour the soup curry over the keema and rice you just mixed.”
I tried it right away, and the sourness of the soup curry blended with the spiciness of the keema curry, the sweetness of the onions, and the flavor of the ginger in my mouth, transforming into an indescribably delicious taste.

“This is delicious!” I couldn’t help but exclaim in my mind.
Among the many curry shops in Tokyo, I think this one is seriously good.
The staff are all women, and the service is attentive and considerate, giving the impression that many of the customers are women.
About Lion Share
Lion Share is an authentic curry specialty restaurant founded in 2004.
Their curry uses minimal oil and salt, and contains no chemical seasonings, additives, dairy, eggs, or wheat flour, so it won’t leave you feeling heavy.
While the portions are quite substantial, I felt refreshed after finishing my meal.
I’ve visited many curry restaurants in Tokyo, and I felt this was among the top-tier in terms of deliciousness.
Although only Japanese customers were present that day, they have English menus available and are fully prepared for inbound tourists.
Lion Share is a recommended spot for anyone seeking a refined, delicious curry experience.
