Tokyo is home to many curry hotspots, and Hatsudai is one of the best-kept secrets among curry lovers.

I discovered a curry restaurant in Hatsudai that caught my eye!
It was lunchtime in Hatsudai that day.
As I was looking for somewhere to have lunch, I found a restaurant that caught my eye.
That’s why I went to a spice curry restaurant called “Idokorone”.
I went there relying on Google Maps, but the restaurant was in a very hard-to-find location.
Unless you are visiting with this place as your destination, I don’t think you will be able to find it.
It really is a place that feels like a hideaway.
The owner, who is a unique character, makes a delicious curry
I ordered the “mackerel and vegetable curry” (1,300 yen) after looking at the menu, but the curry that came out was quite unique in appearance.
However, when I took a bite, I was surprised to find that it was a curry I had never eaten before, and it was also delicious.
To begin with, I don’t really understand what spice curry is, but my image of it was that it was a curry full of spices, but this curry was completely different.
It had a very gentle flavor, but was also spicy. Moreover, it was a curry that made the most of the natural flavors of the ingredients, and in a sense had a Japanese-style taste.
The owner of this restaurant was not someone who wanted to make money from cooking, but rather a “particular” person who wanted to make the food he liked, and was a chef with a lot of individuality (in fact, he is the type of chef I like).
It may be a bit of an exaggeration, but it was the most suited to my tastes of all the spicy curries I’ve ever eaten.
It’s probably not a very famous restaurant, but I think it’s tastier than the famous restaurants where there are always queues.
About “Idokorone”
You can tell from the official Instagram account that this restaurant is quite unique.
For example, it says “Closed on Sundays and public holidays. Lunch: 11:30 – 14:00 (last orders) / Dinner: 18:30 – 23:00 (last orders) / Please refrain from visiting if you have a strong dislike of ‘normal’ things, as we are not good at tidying up.”
If you see this and think “this looks like it might be dangerous”, it would probably be safer not to go.
On the other hand, if you think “this looks interesting”, please do go and visit.
It’s a very mysterious restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious curry.
