This is a shop that is patronized by famous celebrities and professional athletes.
TOKYO COWBOY is a specialty store for Japanese black beef, and in order to provide high-quality meat, they have their own selection criteria and only purchase meat that has passed their standards.
As it is a butcher’s shop that offers full-order cuts, it is not listed in gourmet guides and is not well known to the general public, but the customer base of TOKYO COWBOY is surprisingly wide.
In addition to local residents, professional baseball players, professional soccer players and other athletes, as well
The take-out roast beef sandwich is very popular!
In addition to selling meat, this shop also sells take-out roast beef.
You will have to wait about 10 minutes for your order to be made, but it’s fun to look at the high-quality meat on display in the shop while you wait.
The roast beef sandwich is filled with plenty of meat and the shiso leaves add a nice accent, making it really delicious.
I think it’s quite a bargain to be able to buy such a delicious roast beef sandwich for 1,296 yen (price as of May 2023).
The owner of the shop, Mr. Ueno, also said, “There is no profit at all”.
About “TOKYO COWBOY
President Ueno used to work for a foreign financial institution, but through his interactions with people in the meat wholesaling industry through cross-industry exchanges, he felt the potential of Japanese beef as a business that could take on the world, and so he quit his job and launched “TOKYO COWBOY”.
Incidentally, the name “COWBOY” is not a direct translation of the word “cowboy” but is used as American slang to mean “naughty”, and it expresses President Ueno’s passionate desire to “become a naughty presence” and shake up the meat industry.
The storefront is very impressive, and you might feel a little intimidated to go in, but you can buy small quantities, and they also have relatively inexpensive cuts of meat such as lean meat and roast beef, so I hope you will visit. The staff are also all very kind.
