Jiyugaoka is a hotbed of sweets shops, but there are two extremely popular Western-style confectionery shops in the area.
They are “Patisserie Paris Seveille” and “Mont St. Clair”, and in this article we will be introducing “Patisserie Paris Seveille”.
Please check the official website and the Google map below for opening hours, days closed, reviews, etc.

A super popular shop with a long line of customers at all times

On my son-in-law’s birthday, I went out to Jiyugaoka with my family.
We decided to buy sweets to eat at home, so I looked for a shop on my mobile phone and found this one.
It said that it was a popular shop with a long line, but when we arrived there were only 7 or 8 people in line, so we decided to join the queue.

This is a delicious cake that stimulates the brain.

I bought five different cakes on this day, but I’ll describe the ones I remember (there are no pictures of the shop because photography is not allowed).
■The “Théâtre” chocolate cake… my favorite, with a rich, gooey chocolate center and a tangy, refreshing berry sauce.
■The “Passoa” macaroon cake… the sides are covered in coconut flakes, giving it a pleasant, crunchy texture.

■“Komu New Yorker” – A rare cheesecake with a crispy biscuit on top. The lemon confit in the base gave it a refreshing flavor and was delicious.

The following information is unknown as no records were kept.

The cake was quite sweet overall, but it didn’t seem too sweet to me, and it was a delicious cake that stimulated my brain when I was tired.
It’s one of the most popular shops in the whole country, and I think this stimulation lingers in your brain and makes you want to go back again.
In a way, I think it’s a great cake with an addictive quality.

About “Patisserie Paris Seveille”

Owner-chef Mie Yoshiaki Kaneko worked at Ladurée and Arnaud Larher in France before going independent in 2003 and opening Paris S’eveille.
During this time, he also had an unusual career, leaving the world of Western confectionery to work in the world of graphic design.
Incidentally, the name of the shop, Paris S’eveille, means “Paris Awakens”.
Since being introduced on the TBS program “Jounetsu Tairiku” in April 2021, the shop has become even more popular, and the queues seem to have grown even longer.
