A visit to a restaurant I remember going to with my late father

About 20 years ago, I went to a restaurant I remember going to with my late father.
I thought it was delicious the last time I visited, but I haven’t had the chance to go back since then, so this was my first visit in a very long time.
The name “Keipha” might make you think of a famous ramen restaurant in Kumamoto, but it’s actually an old Chinese restaurant in Seijo that specializes in Chinese medicine cuisine.

The Chinese medicine-based cuisine was as delicious as I had heard.

This time, I went out with my wife.
We ordered the “Shokuyo (Chinese medicine-based) Omakase Course” (4,400 yen), but it didn’t have a Chinese medicine-based feel at all, and we enjoyed it very much.

The food is generally well-flavored, and there is none of the greasy taste that is often associated with Chinese food, so it is very much suited to women.
There are eight dishes in total, and the volume is also generous, so my wife and I were both very satisfied.
I think that 4,400 yen for this is pretty cheap.

About “Keipha”

Keika is a very popular restaurant in the local area, and it is always bustling with customers.
It may not be flashy, but it is well-known for its good value for money, and you can enjoy original Chinese cuisine that incorporates Japanese cooking techniques into dishes from all over China, with a focus on Shanghai and Sichuan cuisine.
The head chef’s recommended menu also includes a variety of creative dishes that incorporate French and Italian cooking techniques.
The dishes, which are based on the concept of “food as medicine”, do not use any chemical seasonings.
They are healthy, delicious and reasonably priced, so the restaurant often fills up as soon as it opens, especially at lunchtime.
It seems that you can make a reservation for lunch, so we recommend that you make a reservation before visiting.
