Fukui Prefecture, which I visited several times while working in Aichi Prefecture, was one of my favorite areas because the fish was so delicious.
There is a restaurant in Omotesando that serves seasonal ingredients from Fukui.
This time, we would like to introduce “Fukui, Boyoro Aoyama Branch” in Minami-Aoyama 5-chome.
Please check the official website and Google Maps below for opening hours, holidays, reviews, etc.

This restaurant is run by the long-established Fukui inn “Boyoro”.

When I visited Fukui Prefecture, I ate fish dishes, Eiheiji soba noodles, and sauce katsudon, and they were all delicious.
The restaurant that serves seasonal ingredients from Fukui is “Fukui, Boyoro Aoyama Branch” in Minami Aoyama.
I first visited here in August 2016, and at that time I had the “crab, baby sardine and salmon roe chirashi gozen” (1,850 yen).

Considering that a long-established, famous ryokan is offering a luxurious course with Echizen grated soba and tempura in Minami Aoyama, I thought the price was reasonable.

I wanted to eat Fukui cuisine after a long time, so I visited

Sometimes I get a sudden craving for local cuisine I’ve eaten before, and that’s why I went to “Fukui, Bōyōrō Aoyama Branch” after a long time.
This time, I ordered the sauce katsudon and grated soba (1600) instead of crab.

The sauce katsudon and soba noodles were delicious, of course, but the salad was also very impressive.
On the way out, we said hello to the dinosaur at the entrance (Fukui Prefecture is famous for the many dinosaur fossils that have been discovered there, and there is also a large museum).

About “Boyoro”

Bokyourou is a long-established ryokan (Japanese-style inn) in Mikuni, Fukui Prefecture, which once prospered as a port of call for the Kitamae-bune trading ships. It was founded in 1878 (Meiji 11) by an ancestor of the current owner, who was a shipping agent.
The inn is famous for its dishes made with the Echizen crabs that are caught off the coast of Fukui and presented to the Imperial Family, and it attracts many customers from outside the prefecture.
The food served at Aoyama is delicious, but the local Fukui cuisine is exceptional.
I hope that you will first experience the deliciousness of Fukui cuisine at the Fukui, Bōyōro Aoyama branch, and then actually visit Fukui and enjoy the delicious food there.
With the opening of the Shinkansen, Fukui has become much closer than it used to be.
