きすけ(港区) Kisuke (Minato-ku) Tameike Sanno / Oyako-don A famous restaurant that always appears in media features on oyako-don. They only use Hinaidori chicken and Okukuji eggs. lunch:¥1,000~¥1,999 dinner:¥1,000~¥1,999 |
I especially like oyakodon among chicken dishes, and I’m always on the lookout for a good oyakodon restaurant.
This time, I’d like to introduce one of my favorite oyakodon restaurants in Tokyo, Kisuke Akasaka Honten in Tameike-sanno.
Please check the official website and Google Map below for opening hours, holidays, reviews, etc.
I was so impressed by the deliciousness of the food on my first visit!
It was a long time ago, but I found a restaurant in a narrow alley in Tameike-sanno that served oyakodon with a great atmosphere.
I had already finished eating, so I didn’t go in, but there was something about the place that attracted me.
Then, about 10 years later, I happened to pass by the shop again, and a memory from the past that had been sleeping deep inside me was revived.
“Ah, this is the shop from that time!” and so I went straight in.
As soon as I entered the restaurant, the staff asked me how big I wanted my rice to be.
Apparently, the menu only has oyakodon, and they only ask whether you want a large or regular portion.
I took a bite of the oyakodon that was brought to me shortly after.
The chicken was tender and the slightly sweet-flavored egg disappeared down my throat surprisingly comfortably.
This oyakodon was incredibly delicious.
As I mentioned at the beginning, I love oyakodon and go out to eat it quite often, but I was so impressed by the level of oyakodon I rarely encounter that I started going there frequently after that.
The oyakodon was 1,300 yen, but it felt very cheap to me (as of August 2023).
This restaurant is particular about the ingredients it uses from Akita Prefecture.
Kisuke Akasaka Honten was opened in 2005 by the first generation owner, who is from Akita Prefecture.
The restaurant is particular about using ingredients from Akita Prefecture, and for its oyakodon (chicken and egg bowl) it uses Hinai chicken and Akitakomachi rice from Akita Prefecture, and eggs from the Okukuji chicken from Ibaraki Prefecture, which are known for their rich flavor.
Also, as they don’t use sugar in the sauce, but use mirin to add sweetness, it’s not too heavy and you can eat it easily.
I like oyakodon because it gives you a feeling of eating rice with raw egg on top, and you can get that feeling with the oyakodon at Kisuke Akasaka Honten.
Whenever I go out to Tameike-sanno, I usually eat here, and the food is always delicious and it soothes my tired body and soul.
At night, it seems that many people enjoy the Hinaidori yakitori, smoked cheese and Akita local sake, and then finish off with the oyakodon.
