There are many Western-style restaurants in Tokyo that are not so-called high-class restaurants, but are extremely popular in their local area.
This time, we would like to introduce one such restaurant, the famous “Western-style restaurant bar Ultra” in Kyodo.

I found a great Western-style restaurant in a gourmet guide.
This restaurant was introduced by Seiji Rokkaku in a book called Setagaya Life, which I find useful, but because Mr. Rokkaku has a strong image as a drinker and the article on the restaurant was small, I completely skipped over it.
When I found the article, I became interested and visited the restaurant immediately.
It is supported by a wide range of people in the local area
The “Western-style bar Ultra” I visited was a really wonderful restaurant.
It is located just a short distance from Kyodo Station, and I went there just before 12:00 on a weekday, but I had to wait a little.
After eating the fried prawns (1,200 yen) I ordered, I thought, “It’s no surprise there’s a queue, and if it’s this good and this cheap, it’s no surprise it’s even more crowded!
It’s delicious, and the restaurant is clean, cheap, and the staff are friendly.
It really is a restaurant that has all four of these things.
The customers range from students to adults, and it has gained tremendous support from the locals.
Recently, I’ve been going to Western-style restaurants in Ginza a lot, but I was able to eat delicious Western-style food to my heart’s content for half the price of Ginza.
About “Western-style Bar Ultra”
Yoshoku Bar Ultra is a popular Western-style restaurant in Kyodo that has inherited the taste of its father, the founder of the once-legendary Yoshoku-ya Mac in Shimokitazawa.
They serve Western-style lunches that make you want to eat rice at lunchtime, and delicious dinners that make you want to drink at night.
In the aforementioned book, Setagaya Life, it says, “Rokkaku-san’s favorite thing is to add toppings such as fried prawns or fried white fish to the hamburger steak, which is the shop’s signature dish”.
The regular menu is also wonderfully delicious, but my favorites are the fried prawns and the ginger-flavored pork loin.
Although it was established in 2012 and has a short history, “Yoshoku Bar Ultra”, which has inherited the taste and spirit of the legendary restaurant, has become a place for people in Kyodo to relax.
